Current Research Assistants

Faris Shahin

Samer Alshaer

Faris Shahin is currently a Computer Engineering Masters student at the German Jordanian University. He enrolled in the Masters of Science program in Computer Engineering in Feb 2016/2017. Before that, he worked as a Developer Support Engineer at LEAD Technologies Inc.. He graduated from Princess Sumaya University for Technology in 2014 with a BSc. in Computer Engineering. During his period of study, he participated in the Second Universities Robotics Competition in which the team he was part of won the first place in the robot sumo competition. His work is mainly focused on embedded implementations of MIMO systems using SoC architectures. Faris joined the EWIoT lab in 2017.

Samer Alshaer is a Computer Engineering masters student at the German Jordanian University. Samer previously worked as a laboratory teaching assistant at Philadelphia University and also as an engineer trainer. Samer has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Mechatronics Engineering. Samer has also published multiple research papers in the topics of reverse engineering, image processing, automation, robotics and classification algorithms. Samer is also a scholarship holder and is the first place winner of the QRCE/JosCO Industry-University Linkage challenge held in 2013. Samer’s interests are in programming, micro-controllers, system automation, simulation, and electronics. Samer joined the EWIoT lab in 2017.

Abdullah Alkhatib

Neveen Aljanini

Abdullah Al-Khatib is a computer engineering professional with a B.Sc in computer engineering from the University of Jordan. Abdullah’s background and interests are in computer architecture, embedded systems, programming, machine learning, networking, and communication systems. Abdullah joined the EWIoT lab in 2017 as a research assistant.

Neveen Aljanini is bachelors of computer engineering student at the German Jordanian University. Her interests are computer architecture, UX design, embedded systems and automotive systems. She recently finished her bachelor’s thesis at Bosch Engineering/Germany in test automation. She joined the EWIoT lab in 2018 as a research assistant.

Nour Ayad

Nour Ayyad is a Communications Engineer with huge interest in working on topics in her field. Nour received her B.S from Al-Hussein Bin Talal University in early 2017. Noor has a great passion to keep on learning and working in fields other than engineering. Noor worked in various areas such as accounting, tourism, and marketing. Noor was part of the EWIoTG from July to September 2017 as a research assistant.
